Over 20 years experience in Louisiana.

During my professional career I have had he opportunity to work in private practice (17 years) as well as public service (3+ years). Partner in Courcelle & Burkhalter from 1998 to 2011. Partner of the firm handling a full case load as well as the business of the practice.

Accepted a new opportunity and challenge as the Executive Director of the Louisiana State Board of Dentistry in 2011. Held that position and lead that organization until 2014.

Launched my own firm in 2014 and returned to the private sector. The interaction with individuals and businesses who are looking for legal help and solutions drives me everyday. I pride myself on truly knowing my clients and taking their problems on as my own.

Finding solutions and helping them is not just a goal it's a requirement.

Practice Areas

Over 20 years of practice has enabled me to represent clients in a wide range of areas. Many areas of the law overlap and having an attorney that has experience in many areas will provide you with the most consistent representation.

  • Personal Injury Law

Personal injury suits concern certain types of wrongdoing that aren’t covered by contract law. This includes claims for injuries like slipping and falling in a store parking lot, product liability suits, medical malpractice, car accidents, and many other types of cases.

  • Criminal Law

Criminal law or penal law is the body of law that relates to crime. It regulates social conduct and proscribes whatever is threatening, harmful, or otherwise endangering to the property, health, safety, and moral welfare of people. It includes the punishment of people who violate these laws.

  • Construction Law

Construction law covers a wide range of legal issues including contract, negligence, bonds and bonding, guarantees and sureties, liens and other security interests, tendering, construction claims, and related consultancy contracts.

  • Real Estate Law

Property law is the area of law that governs the various forms of ownership and tenancy in real property and in personal property, within the common law legal system.

  • Wills/Successions/Probate

Wills are the most common way for people to state how their property and affairs should be distributed and handled after their deaths. A well-written will eases the transition for survivors by transferring property quickly and avoiding many tax burdens.

  • Corporate/LLC/Partnership Formation

Corporate law deals with firms that are incorporated or registered under the corporate or company law of a sovereign state or their subnational states.

  • Banking Law

Banks, savings and loans, credit unions and other financial institutions are governed by a number of federal and state laws and regulations, including the Right to Financial Privacy Act, the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATROIT Act, the Community Reinvestment Act, the Truth in Savings Act, the Truth in Lending Act and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act.

  • Business Law

Commercial law, also known as business law, is the body of law that applies to the rights, relations, and conduct of persons and businesses engaged in commerce, merchandising, trade, and sales.
